Celtic F.C. preparing fresh contract offer for Anthony Ralston
Celtic F.C. are expected to open discussions over a new contract for Anthony Ralston as they look to secure his long-term future at the club.
The full-back has just one year remaining on his current deal, and the Scottish champions are reportedly eager to reach an extension before the new campaign gets underway. Having joined Celtic’s academy as a youngster, Ralston has spent almost his entire football career at Parkhead and has been part of the senior setup since making his debut as a teenager.

Now 27, the defender recently represented Scotland national football team at the World Cup, coming off the bench in matches against Morocco national football team and Brazil national football team.
Reports suggest manager Martin O’Neill wants Ralston to remain part of his plans beyond the expiration of his current contract.
The defender featured 35 times last season, his highest appearance total since establishing himself under Ange Postecoglou. Competition for the right-back role remained fierce, with Alistair Johnston and Julián Araujo also featuring regularly, while academy prospect Colby Donovan has emerged as another option and could spend the coming season out on loan.
Ralston’s proposed extension would continue Celtic’s policy of rewarding key squad members with new contracts, following recent renewals for Luke McCowan and Liam Scales.
His rise to becoming a regular at Celtic was far from straightforward. After making his first-team debut, he spent several years gaining experience on loan at Queen’s Park F.C., Dundee United F.C. and St Johnstone F.C.. His future at the club appeared uncertain until Postecoglou arrived, but a memorable goal in the Australian’s first league game against Hearts marked the beginning of a remarkable turnaround in his Celtic career.
