New details emerge on why Craig Bellamy’s move to Burnley F.C. broke down
Burnley F.C. are still searching for a new manager ahead of the 2026/27 Championship season after talks with Craig Bellamy unexpectedly broke down.
Bellamy, who previously worked as an assistant at Burnley and is currently in charge of the Wales national football team, had been strongly tipped to take over following Scott Parker’s departure.

But despite expectations that a deal was close, reports now suggest disagreements over backroom staff played a major role in the move collapsing.
It’s understood the Football Association of Wales had already begun preparing for Bellamy’s possible exit, with replacement options being explored.
Now Burnley are back to considering alternatives, with Steve Cooper and Rob Edwards among the names being discussed.
With pre-season fast approaching, the Clarets face increasing pressure to appoint Parker’s successor and avoid heading into the new campaign with uncertainty still hanging over the club.
