Falkirk boss John McGlynn dealt three injury blows before key fixture
Falkirk F.C. have been dealt a major setback following their Scottish Cup semi-final defeat, with three important players now ruled out through injury ahead of their trip to Celtic F.C..
Goalkeeper Scott Bain, along with defenders Liam Henderson and Filip Lissah, all picked up knocks during the clash against Dunfermline Athletic F.C. and will miss the upcoming league fixture. Their absence comes as a significant blow, particularly with Bain’s situation still being closely monitored.

Manager John McGlynn revealed that Bain suffered an ankle injury, with scans confirming bone bruising rather than a fracture. While the issue is not considered long-term, the recovery is not entirely straightforward, and the goalkeeper is expected to be sidelined for a short period. However, there is optimism that he could return before the end of the season, and there are no major concerns regarding his availability for future international commitments.
Meanwhile, Henderson is dealing with a minor hamstring problem that has not healed in time for the weekend, ruling him out as well. The loss of multiple key players adds to the challenge Falkirk face as they aim to respond to their recent disappointment.
Despite the setback, McGlynn has urged his squad to quickly move on from their penalty shoot-out defeat and refocus on their league ambitions. He admitted the mood in the camp was low in the days following the loss, but stressed the importance of regaining momentum.
Falkirk are still targeting a push for fifth place, which could potentially secure European qualification. Although the gap to Hibernian F.C. remains significant, the manager believes his side must remain determined and give themselves every chance of closing it before the season concludes.
