Danny Röhl opens up on hidden challenges during his time in charge of Rangers FC
Danny Röhl has guided Rangers FC back into the title race since arriving at Ibrox, but the journey hasn’t been without personal sacrifice.
The German coach has transformed the Light Blues following Russell Martin’s difficult spell, leaving them just four points off the top with games in hand over Heart of Midlothian FC and Celtic FC.

However, Röhl admitted the role has been demanding for his family, revealing he has only seen his children a handful of times each year since late 2023 due to his commitments, including his previous time at Sheffield Wednesday.
He explained that maintaining a stable home life for his children was a priority, even if it meant long periods apart. Röhl also noted he appreciates being able to move around more freely without constant attention.
He further revealed that discussions with Rangers’ American owners even interrupted a planned family holiday, recalling how he had to leave Greece for urgent talks in London shortly after arriving.
