Breaking down the money side of the latest West Ham United F.C. takeover speculation involving Amanda Staveley
Fresh reports have once again linked Amanda Staveley with a possible takeover move involving West Ham United F.C., but the financial and legal realities suggest any deal could be far from straightforward.
Recent claims indicate that exploratory discussions may have taken place between Staveley, her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi, and parties connected to the club. However, there remains significant doubt over whether a deal is anywhere close.

A major factor is the position of current shareholder David Sullivan, who still controls a sizeable stake in the club. With West Ham now in the Championship, the value of those shares has reportedly dropped, making an immediate sale less appealing.
There is growing belief that Sullivan may prefer to wait and see if the club can earn promotion back to the Premier League, which would likely increase the value of his stake considerably.
Another uncertainty is the role of the new football regulator, which could have a say on ownership matters under its fit-and-proper-person rules. How much influence that could have remains unclear.
For now, any potential takeover involving Staveley or Daniel Křetínský appears to be a complex situation that may take time to develop, with legal and financial hurdles still standing in the way.
