Breaking down Anthony Ralston’s contribution in Celtic FC’s 1-0 triumph over St Mirren FC
Celtic FC can be a ruthless environment, even for someone as experienced as Anthony Ralston.
Having risen through the ranks at Celtic Park and made close to 200 appearances, Ralston still found himself overlooked before the March international break, with Reo Hatate deployed at right-back during the defeat to Dundee United. Fast forward, and he returned to the starting XI for the Premiership clash with St Mirren FC.

Many supporters feel he isn’t first-choice quality, but injuries to key players meant he deserved his chance earlier. That earlier decision backfired, as Hatate was caught out for Dundee United’s second goal.
With Julian Araujo out for the season, Alistair Johnston not yet fit, and Colby Donovan unavailable, Ralston stepped in as Celtic battled to a vital win. Despite an inconsistent performance, the defence held firm.
Ralston impressed with a strong all-round display, leading the match in ground duels (5) and carries (37), while helping secure a clean sheet and earning a 7.4 rating.
