Why Amanda Staveley is unable to invest in West Ham United F.C.
Amanda Staveley’s reported interest in investing in West Ham United F.C. appears to have hit a major obstacle, with no shares currently open for purchase.
Recent speculation intensified after Staveley and her husband, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, were seen at the London Stadium, but reports suggest the visit was simply a tour of the venue rather than formal discussions over ownership.

While there has been talk of Staveley exploring a possible stake in the club, particularly through shares held by David Sullivan, those options do not appear to be on the table at this stage.
It is understood Sullivan has no plans to sell unless a previously agreed valuation linked to Daniel Křetínský’s buyout terms is reached. That figure is believed to value the club at more than £650 million, making any potential deal far more complicated.
At the same time, Křetínský is expected to increase his stake through a separate agreement involving the Gold family’s shares, which would further reduce opportunities for new investors.
As things stand, the ownership structure looks set to remain largely unchanged, with Křetínský positioned to become the club’s largest shareholder, while Sullivan is expected to keep a significant stake but play less of a direct role in day-to-day operations.
