Former coach appears in court following post-match Rangers-Celtic Scottish Cup trouble
A former youth football coach has appeared in court charged with assault following incidents after a Scottish Cup match between Rangers and Celtic.
Marc Spence, 47, was detained by police on the pitch shortly after the final whistle of the quarter-final clash at Ibrox on March 8. Celtic went on to win the tie on penalties before eventually completing a domestic league and cup double.

Footage from the match showed sections of fans invading the pitch, with a number of arrests made in the aftermath of the disorder.
Spence has now appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court facing charges of assault and breach of the peace following a private hearing. No further details of the alleged offences have been released, and he made no plea during the hearing.
He was granted bail and is due to return to court at a later date, which has yet to be confirmed.
Spence previously worked as a youth coach before the incident, having been involved with Glenbuck & Douglas Valley Football Academy in South Lanarkshire.
The academy later confirmed his departure in a statement posted on social media, saying: “After Sunday’s incident, the coach is no longer part of the academy. We will not be commenting any further on this.”
