Youssef Chermiti responds to Rangers exit rumours and shares career ambition
Youssef Chermiti has dismissed speculation surrounding his Rangers future, insisting he remains fully committed to the club despite reported interest from French side Lyon.
The Portuguese striker joined Rangers in a deal worth around £8.5 million last summer and ended his debut campaign in impressive fashion, scoring 15 goals after a slow start to life at Ibrox.

His strong finish to the season has reportedly caught the attention of Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, but Rangers are understood to have no intention of selling the 22-year-old, with chairman Andrew Cavenagh believing Chermiti’s value could rise even further.
For his part, the forward says he is happy in Glasgow and is paying little attention to transfer rumours.
“I’m very happy here,” Chermiti said.
“I enjoy living in Glasgow, I love the club and I feel everyone here has welcomed me. The coaching staff and everyone around the club are helping me improve every day.
“The rumours don’t distract me at all. I haven’t heard anything myself because I leave those things to my agent and my family.
“My full focus is on Rangers and the season ahead. I feel settled here, and my family are enjoying life in the city too.”
Chermiti also believes he has plenty of room for improvement and is determined to reach another level during the upcoming campaign.
“I’m confident there’s much more to come from me,” he added.
“My aim is to keep improving every single day. Ultimately, my biggest dream is to represent Portugal’s senior national team. That’s what I’m working towards.”
