Who will land the free agent striker? Derby County F.C. and Charlton Athletic F.C. both make their move
Charlton Athletic F.C. and Derby County F.C. are both looking to strengthen their attacking options this summer, with reports suggesting they have made offers for free-agent striker Sambou Soumano.
The 25-year-old is available after his contract with FC Lorient came to an end, making him an attractive option for Championship clubs searching for value in the market.

Soumano featured regularly in Ligue 1 last season, scoring four goals and providing two assists, although most of his appearances came from the bench. Before that, he played a major role in Lorient’s promotion campaign, registering 14 goals in Ligue 2.
His career has also included loan spells with K.A.S. Eupen, Rodez AF, and US Quevilly-Rouen Métropole, where he showed his ability to deliver consistently in front of goal.
For Derby boss John Eustace and Charlton manager Nathan Jones, Soumano could represent a low-risk signing with high potential, especially with no transfer fee involved.
With both clubs pushing hard to improve next season, the race for the striker could be one to watch.
