Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore makes transfer feelings clear as Rangers circle

Mikey Moore appears set for a major decision regarding his future this summer, with Rangers keen to bring the young Tottenham Hotspur winger back to Ibrox for another loan spell following an encouraging campaign in Glasgow.

The 18-year-old enjoyed an increasingly impressive season with Rangers during the 2025/26 campaign, contributing directly to 10 goals across 33 Scottish Premiership appearances.

Although both the club and the teenager endured a difficult start to the season, Moore gradually established himself as an important figure in the squad and emerged as one of the brighter attacking sparks in an otherwise frustrating campaign.

Now due to return to Tottenham at the end of his loan, Moore remains highly rated by those at the North London club. However, Rangers boss Danny Röhl has already made no secret of his desire to reunite with the attacker next season, making it clear that bringing him back is a priority.

Speaking after Rangers’ 5-2 victory over Falkirk on the final day of the season, Röhl openly praised Moore’s impact and development during his time in Scotland. The manager explained that the winger fits naturally into Rangers’ setup and expressed confidence that the club could continue helping him develop into an even better player. Röhl also stressed the importance of moving quickly, admitting he would ideally want Moore involved from the very beginning of pre-season preparations if a deal can be agreed.

Despite Rangers’ interest, Moore himself has stopped short of committing to another spell at Ibrox. The young forward has already indicated that any decision over his future will depend heavily on discussions once he returns to Tottenham and speaks with those now in charge at the club.

Moore admitted he plans to assess what Tottenham’s coaching staff and people around him believe is best before making a final call. His comments suggest he remains open-minded rather than fully committed to a Rangers return, with much likely to depend on the plans of new Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi and how he views the teenager’s development pathway.

The situation could also become more complicated depending on Tottenham’s circumstances heading into next season. If Spurs were to suffer relegation from the Premier League, there may be greater incentive to keep promising academy talents like Moore close to the first-team squad rather than sending them out on loan again.

On the other hand, if Tottenham remain in the top flight, Moore could find regular opportunities difficult to come by at senior level, making another move to Rangers an attractive option. At Ibrox, he would likely continue receiving consistent minutes in a competitive environment, something that could prove crucial for his growth at this stage of his career.

For Rangers, the appeal is obvious. Moore showed flashes of genuine quality during his loan spell and earned praise from former striker Jermain Defoe, who described him as a “special” talent. With Röhl eager to strengthen his squad after a disappointing season, securing Moore’s return could represent an important early piece of summer business.

Ultimately, the teenager’s future now appears likely to hinge on Tottenham’s plans, Moore’s own ambitions, and whether Rangers can convince both player and parent club that another year in Glasgow is the best next step in his development.
