Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis’ agent confirms Celtic contact

Celtic have made contact with the representatives of Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis, although discussions have yet to progress to the stage of a formal transfer offer.

Speaking exclusively to CeltsAreHere, the Lithuania international’s agent, Dmitry Vinokurov, confirmed that communication has taken place but stressed that no official bid has been submitted.

He explained that Celtic had reached out regarding the 22-year-old, but added that he continues to explore other opportunities for his client while remaining open to working with the Scottish champions.

Vinokurov also dismissed reports claiming Torino had already rejected an offer from Celtic, insisting those suggestions were inaccurate.

At this stage, Celtic’s interest is genuine, but the club appear to be assessing their midfield plans before deciding whether to make a concrete move.

A lot could hinge on the future of Arne Engels, with Celtic potentially waiting to see if the Belgian departs before stepping up their pursuit of another midfielder.

There is optimism from the player’s camp, however. Vinokurov revealed that Gineitis welcomes Celtic’s interest and would be keen to consider any proposal should the club decide to submit one.

While the Hoops have established early contact, they are not alone in monitoring the midfielder, with other clubs also making enquiries about his availability.

For now, Torino have not received an official approach, leaving Celtic to decide whether to advance their interest before the transfer window closes.
