Robbie Keane’s name surfaces for another Premiership vacancy as Peter Grant responds
Speculation surrounding Robbie Keane and a possible return to Scottish football continues, despite Martin O’Neill being confirmed as Celtic’s manager for the upcoming season.
For a period, Keane had been strongly linked with the role at Celtic F.C. before the club opted to bring back O’Neill. While that chapter appears closed, fresh reports have connected the former striker with the vacant managerial position at Heart of Midlothian F.C..

Former Celtic coach Peter Grant, however, does not believe that move is likely. Speaking on Go Radio, Grant dismissed the suggestion and questioned whether it would be a popular choice among Hearts supporters.
The Tynecastle side are entering a period of major transition after a difficult summer that has seen several significant changes. Club captain Lawrence Shankland has moved to Rangers F.C., while manager Derek McInnes has also departed for Ibrox, leaving Hearts searching for a new direction ahead of the new campaign.
Despite Keane’s name being mentioned, Grant believes the Irishman may have other ambitions. He suggested that a return to England could be the more likely path, pointing to Keane’s coaching record and the possibility of opportunities emerging south of the border.
Keane has continued to build his managerial profile in recent years, and while his future remains uncertain, it appears a move to Hearts may not be at the top of that list.
