Raul Jimenez sends defiant message after major Wolves injury blow
Raul Jimenez sends fresh message to Wolves fans as comeback mission begins
Wolves supporters will have to wait a little longer to see Raul Jimenez back in action, but the Mexican striker has offered an encouraging glimpse into life after his latest injury setback.
The 35-year-old is facing a spell on the sidelines until January after sustaining a serious medial collateral ligament injury. What initially appeared to be a worrying problem has since developed into a significant setback, with surgery required to address the damage.

Jimenez arrived back at Molineux ahead of the 2026/27 Championship season with high expectations following his impressive performances for Mexico at the World Cup. The experienced forward quickly settled into life with the Old Gold, showing that he still had plenty to offer in front of goal.
Cesar Peixoto had been managing his minutes carefully, allowing the striker to build his match fitness without placing too much strain on him. His early performances suggested that Wolves had made an encouraging addition to their attacking options.
However, those positive signs came to an abrupt halt during September’s EFL Cup clash against Everton. Jimenez was forced out of the contest before half-time, and subsequent medical examinations revealed the seriousness of the problem.
Wolves have since confirmed that the forward underwent surgery and faces at least three months out of action. His absence represents a frustrating blow for both the player and the club, particularly after the promising start he had made to his return.
With his immediate focus now firmly on rehabilitation, Jimenez has begun sharing glimpses of the work required to get himself back to full fitness.
Jimenez returns to Wolves’ training ground
The former Mexico star has provided another update on his recovery, revealing that he has returned to Wolves’ Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground to begin working towards his comeback.
Jimenez shared the development on Instagram on Monday, showing that he has started undertaking early exercises as he works through the opening stages of his rehabilitation.
The images showed the striker using stretching straps to maintain his mobility and muscle strength. Although the exercises may seem like a small step compared with the demands of competitive football, they form an important part of the process following surgery.
Jimenez acknowledged that his return to action remains a gradual process, describing the latest development as “small first steps” on the road back to fitness.
His message read: “Back to work, small first steps on the road to recovery.”
There is still a long way to go before Jimenez can return to the pitch, with more demanding rehabilitation work expected as his condition improves. For now, the priority will be making steady progress without rushing the process.
Wolves fans will be hoping the experienced striker can overcome this setback and return ready to make another contribution during the second half of the season.
