How Rangers could complete a £14m attacking double swoop

Rangers could continue their ambitious summer rebuild by investing heavily in their attack, with Derek McInnes potentially targeting a £14 million double deal for two exciting wingers.

The Light Blues have already completed nine signings this summer, with Japanese winger Daisuke Yokota the latest arrival at Ibrox. The former Gent man is expected to add much-needed creativity and pace down the right flank after Rangers struggled to break down Dundee United in their opening Premiership fixture.

That frustrating draw appears to have reinforced the need for further attacking reinforcements, and McInnes hinted on Wednesday that more arrivals could still be on the way.

Speaking about the club’s transfer plans, the Rangers boss admitted he would be “delighted” if the club could land the remaining targets on their shortlist before the transfer window closes.

Two names heavily linked with a move to Govan are PSV Eindhoven winger Couhaib Driouech and Frosinone wide man Fares Ghedjemis.

Many supporters have assumed Rangers would pursue one or the other, but journalist Andy Newport believes the club could be aiming to sign both.

Posting on X, Newport wrote: “Fact Driouech and Ghedjemis operate on opposite wings suggests to me they want both. I might be wrong.”

If that proves to be the case, it would represent a major statement of intent from Rangers as they continue reshaping their attacking options.

How much would the double deal cost?

Landing both players would require a sizeable financial commitment.

PSV are understood to value Driouech at around £6 million, a figure Rangers are reportedly prepared to meet.

Meanwhile, Frosinone are believed to want more than £8 million for Ghedjemis after the French winger impressed in Italy.

Combined, the two deals could cost Rangers in excess of £14 million, underlining the club’s determination to provide McInnes with greater quality in the final third.

After a blunt attacking display against Dundee United, fresh competition on both flanks would significantly strengthen Rangers’ options and give McInnes the firepower needed as his squad continues to take shape ahead of the new season.
