Martin O’Neill sends blunt message to Celtic critics after Hearts victory
Martin O’Neill fires back at Celtic ‘crisis’ talk with six-word warning after Hearts thrashing
Martin O’Neill has taken a sarcastic swipe at the talk of a Celtic crisis after watching his side produce a stunning 7-1 demolition of Hearts at Celtic Park.
The Hoops delivered a statement performance against their Edinburgh rivals, with Callum Osmand and Benjamin Nygren both grabbing braces as Celtic moved four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Following the emphatic victory, O’Neill was asked whether the result had sent a message to those who had questioned Celtic’s recent form and raised concerns about the situation at the club.
The experienced manager, however, was quick to point out how quickly the narrative could change again.
O’Neill delivers pointed response to Celtic crisis claims
Speaking during his post-match press conference, O’Neill was asked about the growing discussion surrounding Celtic’s form, the problems at the club and claims that the Scottish champions were in crisis.
The Irishman responded sarcastically, saying: “Yeah, right. If we lose on Thursday, it’ll be the crisis back again.”
He continued: “So been here before. We just have to try and win. We know that.”
O’Neill also acknowledged the importance of Celtic’s upcoming fixture, adding: “Anyway, it won’t be easy for us, but it would be nice and that will definitely give us a boost.”
The message was clear: one convincing victory might quieten the doubters for now.
