Major Rangers supporters’ group set to confront Ibrox chiefs over away kit backlash

Rangers’ official supporters’ group is set to raise concerns with club officials following a furious reaction from fans to the unveiling of the club’s new away kit.

The Ibrox side revealed their fresh white change strip ahead of next season, with the design intended as a tribute to the iconic Rangers FC signage displayed above the stadium’s front entrance. Danny Röhl’s squad are expected to wear the jersey during away fixtures throughout the upcoming campaign.

However, the launch has triggered widespread criticism from sections of the support, with many fans expressing frustration over what they see as an uninspiring design.

Social media quickly filled with negative responses after the strip was unveiled, with some supporters branding it the club’s weakest away shirt in years and accusing the design team of lacking creativity. Others argued the tribute to Ibrox had been poorly executed, questioning whether the inspiration behind the concept was meaningful enough to justify the final look.

Although the jersey features Umbro branding, the kit is manufactured by Castore through an existing licensing partnership between the two companies.

The backlash has also reignited discussion surrounding Rangers’ long-term agreement with Castore, which remains in place until 2030 following a seven-year extension signed in 2023.

In response to mounting frustration from supporters, the Rangers Fan Advisory Board has now confirmed it intends to bring the issue directly to club executives.

After being approached by unhappy fans online, representatives of the supporters’ group stated that concerns surrounding the latest away strip and the wider kit arrangement will be discussed at their next scheduled meeting with Rangers chiefs.

The development highlights growing dissatisfaction among parts of the fanbase, with some supporters hoping club officials will take stronger account of fan opinion when it comes to future kit designs.
