Kieran Trippier reacts to Newcastle’s Wolves nightmare as Fer Lopez delivers brief response
Kieran Trippier sends strong message after Wolves suffer Bolton defeat as Fer Lopez responds
Wolves captain Kieran Trippier has insisted that the team will bounce back after their disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night.
Cesar Peixoto’s side entered the campaign with hopes of challenging for automatic promotion, but back-to-back defeats have left them sitting ninth in the table during the early stages of the season.
While Saturday’s 1-0 loss away to Middlesbrough was perhaps easier to accept, the defeat against newly promoted Bolton proved much harder for Wolves supporters to swallow. The visitors delivered an impressive performance at Molineux and deserved their victory.

Wolves had opportunities to get a result, with Adam Armstrong missing a golden chance to put the hosts ahead in the second half. However, Peixoto’s men struggled to convince, leaving their supporters frustrated at the final whistle.
With a response needed ahead of Friday’s trip to Burnley, Trippier took to Instagram to address the disappointing result and encourage his teammates to keep pushing forward.
The defender acknowledged the quality within the squad while making it clear that the players must continue working together to put things right.
“ A frustrating night as we know the quality we have in this group. We’ll keep working hard and go again, together,” Trippier wrote.
His message quickly attracted a response from teammate Fer Lopez, who offered the Wolves captain a brief but supportive two-word message: “Keep going.”
Wolves must respond against Burnley
The defeat to Bolton represents a significant setback for Wolves, particularly given the expectations surrounding Peixoto’s squad and their ambition to challenge for promotion.
On paper, Wolves would have been expected to come out on top, but their performance failed to reflect the perceived difference in quality between the two sides.
With automatic promotion likely to be the target, Wolves cannot afford to let their recent struggles continue for too long. Friday’s clash with Burnley now presents an opportunity for Peixoto’s men to show their character and prove they can recover from consecutive defeats.
The pressure will be on Wolves to deliver a stronger performance and give their frustrated supporters something to cheer about.
