Emotional farewell for West Brom-bound Felix Horn Myhre after final Brann appearance

Felix Horn Myhre received an emotional send-off from SK Brann supporters after making his final appearance for the Norwegian club ahead of his expected move to West Bromwich Albion.

The Norway international is set to travel to England to complete a medical before finalising a reported £3.1 million switch to The Hawthorns, bringing an end to a memorable five-year spell with Brann.

The midfielder was honoured by supporters following Brann’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Rosenborg, with teammates lifting him into the air after the final whistle in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the club.

Myhre also played an important role in the winning goal, producing the decisive pass that led to Joachim Soltvedt’s cross for Kristian Eriksen to head home a stoppage-time winner.

Speaking after the match, the 26-year-old admitted he is excited about the next chapter of his career and revealed he had spoken with former Brann teammate and current West Brom striker Aune Heggebo before agreeing to the move.

He said he is looking forward to the new challenge and added that Heggebo had spoken positively about both the club and the role he is expected to play.

West Brom are understood to have beaten Spanish side Elche to the midfielder’s signature, with head coach James Morrison playing a significant role in convincing him to make the move to the Championship.

Myhre leaves Brann after making 181 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 39 assists, while also helping the club win two league titles. Despite narrowly missing out on Norway’s World Cup squad, he arrives in England with an impressive reputation as an energetic box-to-box midfielder capable of influencing games at both ends of the pitch.

His arrival will strengthen Morrison’s midfield options as West Brom continue shaping their squad ahead of the new campaign.
