Chris Sutton hits back at Ally McCoist’s comments on Celtic, citing the clear reality of upcoming fixtures
Chris Sutton has once again spoken out in defence of Celtic following the release of the post-split fixtures.
Before the SPFL confirmed the schedule, it was already known that Celtic would have three home games while Rangers would play three away.

However, the Hoops hosting Hearts on the final day—alongside having three home fixtures in the run-in—prompted Ally McCoist to claim on talkSPORT that Celtic are “running it” at the top of Scottish football.
Sutton responded sarcastically on social media after McCoist’s comments were picked up, writing: “How dare Celtic have 19 games at home and 19 away…”
Despite a season that has raised doubts among supporters—highlighted by defeats such as the loss to Dundee United—Celtic remain firmly in the title race. With rivals now questioning the fixture setup, it may actually play into the Hoops’ hands.
Missed opportunities from teams like Hearts and Danny Röhl’s side have also proven costly, with both failing to capitalise on strong positions against Celtic.
