Chris Sutton hailed Alistair Johnston and Arne Engels following Celtic F.C.’s 3-1 victory over Rangers F.C.
Chris Sutton was full of praise for Alistair Johnston and Arne Engels following Celtic F.C.’s impressive 3-1 comeback victory over Rangers F.C. in the latest Old Firm clash.
Celtic initially fell behind after Mikey Moore opened the scoring, but Brendan Rodgers’ side responded strongly as Yang Hyun-jun equalised before a brace from Daizen Maeda sealed a dominant derby win.
Speaking after the match, Sutton highlighted the influence of Engels in midfield, insisting the Belgian brought extra energy and athleticism to Celtic’s engine room. The former striker also praised Johnston’s impact at right-back and defended the Canadian international over his involvement in a flashpoint with Moore during the game.
Posting on X, Sutton wrote: “Engels excelled today. Celtic greater legs in the middle of the park when he plays.
“Alistair Johnston such a difference at right back. Celtic have toiled all season in that position with him out like a man down.”
