Celtic F.C. eye move for young EFL goalkeeper approaching end of contract
Celtic F.C. are actively searching for a new goalkeeper, with Pierce Charles emerging as a key target. The Sheffield Wednesday F.C. shot-stopper is expected to leave Hillsborough this summer following relegation.

Now in the final year of his contract, the 20-year-old is believed to be ready for a fresh challenge. Despite injury setbacks, he has made 35 senior appearances and already earned 10 caps for Northern Ireland national football team, marking him out as one of the country’s brightest prospects.
Celtic are exploring replacements for Kasper Schmeichel, who recently retired after playing through a serious injury. Viljami Sinisalo has stepped in as first choice, though the club are still weighing long-term options. Maty Ryan has also been linked, but the Hoops may prioritise younger talent.
However, Celtic face stiff competition. Rangers F.C. are also interested, while English sides Queens Park Rangers F.C.and Cardiff City F.C. are monitoring the situation, along with clubs from the Premier League. Charles’ previous connection with Danny Röhl could influence his decision.
Although Sinisalo has impressed during his run in goal, there are doubts over whether he is seen as a long-term solution, which could leave his future uncertain if Celtic secure another goalkeeper.
