Big match update: police confirm the number of arrests made during Celtic F.C.’s Scottish Cup final victory over Dunfermline Athletic F.C.
Police have confirmed the number of arrests made during Scottish Cup Final between Celtic F.C. and Dunfermline Athletic F.C. at Hampden Park on Saturday, May 23.
Authorities revealed that only two people were arrested in connection with the match, which took place in Glasgow’s south side and ended with Celtic lifting the trophy following a 3-1 victory over Dunfermline.

According to Police Scotland, one arrest occurred inside the stadium while the second took place outside the venue area. Officers confirmed that both incidents were linked to alleged Section 38 breach of the peace offences.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated that there were just two arrests related to the Scottish Cup final, with one individual detained within Hampden Park and another apprehended elsewhere nearby.
The match itself proved to be a memorable occasion for Celtic supporters, as the Hoops secured another piece of silverware with a convincing win to be crowned Scottish Cup champions. Despite the high-profile nature of the fixture and the large crowd in attendance, the relatively low number of arrests was seen as a largely peaceful outcome for the major sporting event.
