Aribim Pepple addresses Rangers interest after summer transfer rumours

Aribim Pepple has opened up on the transfer speculation that surrounded him during the summer, including reported interest from Rangers.

The Plymouth Argyle striker emerged as a name on the radar of several clubs after an impressive 2025-26 campaign, when he scored 16 goals in League One.

Rangers were among the clubs linked with the 23-year-old as Derek McInnes looked to strengthen his attacking options.

The Gers had already brought Lawrence Shankland to Ibrox before the window opened, but injuries to both Shankland and Youssef Chermiti created another headache in the forward department.

Pepple ultimately remained at Plymouth, despite reported interest from Rangers and several Championship clubs.

Bristol City eventually secured Lorent Tolaj from Plymouth for a substantial fee, but the Pilgrims stood firm over Pepple and kept hold of their other prolific striker.

Pepple has continued his strong form into the new season, and the Canadian has now addressed the transfer speculation surrounding him.

Rather than allowing the rumours to distract him, Pepple said he viewed the interest as a positive reflection of his performances.

He admitted he would have been surprised if someone had told him a year earlier that Championship clubs would be showing an interest in him.

The striker also revealed that much of the transfer talk did not reach him directly, with his agent handling some of the details behind the scenes.

For Pepple, however, the focus remained on Plymouth.

The striker made it clear that his priority was continuing to give everything to the club rather than becoming distracted by speculation about his future.
