Amir Cozier-Duberry open to Rangers switch as deadline condition could boost Ibrox hopes

Amario Cozier-Duberry could become Rangers’ final signing of the summer, with the Brighton winger now reportedly open to a move to Ibrox.

Rangers have maintained an interest in the 21-year-old as they look to complete their transfer business before the deadline. The club have already had an offer worth around £7.5 million rejected by Brighton, but that setback has not ended their pursuit.

Derek McInnes remains keen to add another natural option on the right side of his attack. With Kevin Kelsy’s move to Rangers nearing completion, the club’s need for another centre-forward has eased, potentially leaving Cozier-Duberry as their final priority.

Cozier-Duberry now receptive to Rangers move

Cozier-Duberry was an unused substitute during Brighton’s 4-3 Premier League loss to Chelsea at the weekend.

His current situation comes after an impressive loan campaign at Bolton, where he played an important role in helping the club secure promotion to the Championship.

According to Rangers Review, the winger is now believed to be receptive to the prospect of joining Rangers before the transfer window closes.

However, Brighton’s valuation could prove decisive. There is an expectation that the Seagulls would demand around £10 million to sanction a permanent transfer.

If Rangers are unwilling to reach that figure, a loan deal could provide an alternative route.

English interest could determine Rangers’ chances

Cozier-Duberry continues to attract attention from clubs in the English Championship, meaning Rangers face competition for his signature.

Middlesbrough and Wolves are among the sides understood to be interested, with both clubs targeting promotion to the Premier League.

However, the timing of the English transfer window could work in Rangers’ favour. If Cozier-Duberry does not secure a move to an EFL club before the English deadline on Tuesday, Rangers could see their chances of landing him increase.

The Rangers hierarchy are also aware that a permanent agreement would require a sizeable financial commitment. As a result, a loan could become the preferred solution if Brighton remain unwilling to lower their demands.

Having already impressed in the Championship with Bolton last season, Cozier-Duberry has demonstrated that he can make an impact at that level. His reported willingness to consider a move to Scotland could now give Rangers encouragement as they assess whether to make one final push.
