Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis send strong message after Wolves’ approach for key attacker
Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of André Luiz by submitting an opening bid as they continue strengthening their squad for a promotion push from the Championship.
The club had already begun reshaping the team before the departure of manager Rob Edwards, placing an emphasis on experienced additions. The arrivals of Raúl Jiménez and Kieran Trippier highlighted that approach.

Jiménez’s return has generated optimism after his impressive spell with Fulham F.C., where he scored 21 Premier League goals across the last two seasons. He also enjoyed a productive first stint at Wolves, registering 57 goals in 166 appearances.
Despite that reinforcement, Wolves remain eager to improve their attacking options after finishing last season with just 27 league goals, the lowest total in the division by a considerable margin.
According to reports, Wolves have tabled an offer worth around £12 million for Luiz. However, that proposal is said to fall short of what Evangelos Marinakis and Olympiacos F.C. are willing to accept, meaning the Championship side may need to increase their bid. Interest from another club, which reportedly offered around £14 million earlier this month, could also complicate negotiations.
Although Luiz took time to settle after joining Olympiacos, he impressed during his earlier spell with Rio Ave F.C., where he recorded seven goals and six assists in 19 appearances.
Marinakis previously underlined the Brazilian’s quality by describing him as the standout winger in Portugal during the first half of the campaign, praising his performances before completing the move.
