Four signings Derek McInnes may prioritise after taking charge at Rangers

Rangers’ summer transfer plans could soon accelerate with Derek McInnes expected to take charge at Ibrox following Danny Röhl’s looming departure, and several potential signings are already waiting to be assessed.

After a disappointing third-place finish and another trophyless campaign, Rangers were already preparing for a major rebuild. But with a managerial change now appearing imminent, the final say on several transfer targets may soon rest with McInnes.

Here are four players the incoming Rangers boss is likely to cast his eye over as the club prepares for a busy summer.

Luke Graham

Dundee defender Luke Graham is among the players Rangers have been monitoring closely ahead of the transfer window.

The highly-rated centre-back has attracted interest from clubs in England and across Europe, but Rangers are believed to be keen on bringing him to Ibrox. Whether McInnes views the young defender as an immediate fit for his plans remains to be seen, though strengthening defensively is expected to be high on the agenda.

Bryan Reynolds

Right-back has emerged as one of Rangers’ biggest priorities following the departures of James Tavernier and Max Aarons.

Westerlo defender Bryan Reynolds has already been linked with a move to Glasgow, although Rangers have yet to submit an official offer.

With only Dujon Sterling currently available as a senior option in the position, McInnes is expected to carefully assess whether the American international fits the profile needed to solve a growing issue on the right-hand side of defence.

Mikey Moore

One of the more intriguing situations surrounds Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore.

Danny Röhl had previously spoken openly about wanting the talented winger to remain at Rangers, while Moore himself expressed a desire to push for first-team opportunities at Spurs during pre-season.

However, with Brazilian winger Savinho reportedly arriving at Tottenham from Manchester City, competition for attacking places could intensify — potentially reopening the door for another spell away.

McInnes may now have the opportunity to decide whether Moore still features in Rangers’ plans.

Oskar Fallenius

Djurgården winger Oskar Fallenius has also been linked with an Ibrox switch, especially with just six months remaining on his current contract.

The 24-year-old has reportedly already signalled openness to joining Rangers, but McInnes will likely want to assess whether the attacker matches the style and profile he wants to build at Ibrox.

Pierce Charles

While goalkeeping may not appear an urgent concern, Rangers are also understood to be considering Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pierce Charles.

The 20-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and is viewed as a long-term option between the sticks.

With Liam Kelly extending his deal and Jack Butland remaining first choice for now, McInnes could still have his own ideas about succession planning in goal.

As Rangers prepare for a fresh era, McInnes’ arrival is expected to shape the club’s transfer strategy — and with several deals already bubbling in the background, the coming weeks could prove decisive at Ibrox.
