Lawrence Shankland deal confirmed as Josh Windass sends message to Rangers fans
Josh Windass sends message as Rangers transfer buzz builds after Lawrence Shankland signing
Rangers F.C. have wasted no time getting their summer business underway, with the arrival of Lawrence Shankland from Heart of Midlothian F.C. already generating major reaction — including from former Rangers winger Josh Windass.
Shankland has completed a dream move to Ibrox, signing a two-year deal with his boyhood club as the new era under manager Danny Röhl gets underway. The Scotland international has joined on what is being described as a smart deal, with Rangers moving quickly to secure their first signing of the window.

Although the transfer window is still weeks away from officially opening, Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh has backed Röhl early, with the club eager to strengthen ahead of a crucial season.
Windass, who has previously been linked with a return to Ibrox in recent years, reacted to Shankland’s announcement on social media, posting praise for the striker and highlighting his performance against Rangers in a past match. His comment quickly caught the attention of fans online, adding further excitement around the signing.
The former Rangers winger has been loosely linked with a comeback, especially given his past relationship with Röhl from their time at Sheffield Wednesday, but reports suggest a return is not currently on the cards.
There is growing pressure at Ibrox after another season where Rangers fell short in the title race, with a poor post-split run allowing Celtic to retain the Scottish Premiership crown.
Now, with early backing in the transfer market and momentum building, Röhl will be expected to turn investment into silverware next season — with Shankland’s arrival seen as a statement of intent.
