Sheffield Wednesday co-owner provides major boost to Owls fans
Michael Storch has shared an emotional and optimistic message with Sheffield Wednesday supporters following the completion of the club’s long-awaited takeover.
The Owls co-owner, part of the Arise Capital Partners consortium alongside his father David Storch and businessman Tom Costin, admitted he was already missing Hillsborough after an unforgettable first visit as owner.

May 2 has become a landmark date for Wednesday fans after the club was officially rescued from administration. Supporters were also handed another major boost before the 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion, with confirmation that the club had avoided a potential 15-point deduction ahead of the 2026/27 League One season.
Posting on social media, Michael Storch reflected on the occasion and promised supporters an exciting future ahead.
He wrote: “Really feeling the blues today sat on my flight back to Chicago after one of the best days of my life on Saturday. Wishing we could do it all over again.
“I’ll never forget the welcome you, the fans, gave to me and my family. Getting to meet so many of you was so much fun.”
Storch also praised those involved in completing the takeover process, revealing how difficult negotiations had been behind the scenes.
“After a long and tough process, I want to thank my dad and business partner for believing in this and finding a way. When many could not see a path forward, he kept pushing us all to find it,” he added.
The new co-owner also confirmed productive talks had already taken place with CEO David Bruce and manager Henrik Pedersen, while insisting there is huge enthusiasm around the rebuilding project at Hillsborough.
“We had some great meetings with David Bruce and Henrik this week and there really is just so much to do but I’m incredibly energised. This is going to be an awesome journey. I’ll be back soon.”
After months dominated by uncertainty off the pitch, Sheffield Wednesday fans can finally begin looking ahead with optimism.
Pedersen, who will remain in charge for the 2026/27 campaign, also welcomed the new ownership group and praised the passion already shown by the Storch family.
“David is a really good man,” Pedersen said after the win over West Brom. “He has only been the owner of the club for 24 hours but I am so happy he has shown so much heart for this club already.
“This has been an awful situation. It has been the most difficult situation in English football history maybe ever and we got this win today to say thank you to the fans.”
