Elgin City F.C. have announced the immediate suspension of manager Allan Hale pending an ongoing investigation.

The Scottish League Two club confirmed the decision in a brief statement released on Thursday morning, adding that no further comment will be made until the investigation has concluded.

Hale, who took charge of Elgin in December 2023 following spells with Maud and Fraserburgh, guided the club away from relegation concerns after replacing former interim bosses Barry Smith and Ross Draper.

During his time at Borough Briggs, the 38-year-old helped lead Elgin to the League Two play-offs in the 2024/25 campaign and also oversaw a notable Scottish Cup tie against eventual winners Aberdeen F.C..

This season, Elgin remained in contention for a top-four finish for much of the campaign before falling away late on, eventually ending the season in sixth place. Their final game was a 1-0 home defeat to Stranraer F.C. last weekend.

The club’s statement confirmed Hale has been suspended from his duties with immediate effect while the investigation continues
