Rangers F.C. have confirmed the signing of Dan Neil on a three-year deal, beating several English clubs to secure the midfielder’s signature.

The 24-year-old arrives at Ibrox after leaving Sunderland A.F.C., following a loan spell with Ipswich Town F.C. where he helped the club earn promotion.

Neil had been attracting strong interest from clubs including Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., West Ham United F.C. and Southampton F.C., but Rangers moved quickly to complete the deal.

Speaking after joining, Neil described the transfer as a fresh start and said the ambition and demands of the club were a major factor in his decision.

Manager Derek McInnes praised the midfielder’s qualities, highlighting his technical ability, energy and leadership, with Neil already having captained Sunderland during their successful promotion campaign.

He becomes the latest addition in Rangers’ busy summer rebuild, joining Lawrence Shankland, Ross McCrorie, Ben Godfrey and Ivor Pandur as McInnes continues reshaping his squad for the new season.
