Sheffield Wednesday F.C. takeover update as David Storch deadline looms, Henrik Pedersen speaks and 26/27 strategy emerges
Sheffield Wednesday F.C. head into their final game of a difficult season with much of the focus shifting off the pitch. The club remains in administration, but David Storch and his Arise consortium are pushing to finalise a takeover soon.
A 4-1 defeat to Oxford United F.C. means the Owls could end the campaign on zero points unless they beat West Bromwich Albion F.C. in their last EFL Championship fixture. Relegated back in February, Henrik Pedersen’s side were also hit with an 18-point deduction following the mismanagement of former owner Dejphon Chansiri.

With financial restrictions limiting recruitment, Wednesday have relied heavily on loans and free agents, though players like Jaden Heskey—on loan from Manchester City F.C.—have provided some positives.
Looking ahead, Pedersen confirmed the club plans to stay active in the loan market while preparing for permanent signings once the takeover is complete. Behind the scenes, recruitment chief Kevin Beadell and his team have been scouting across lower leagues and youth competitions to identify targets.
Storch is aiming to complete the takeover by 1 May, a move that could lift restrictions and allow the club to rebuild. Supporters remain hopeful the deal will be finalised in time for their final-day clash at Hillsborough.
