Czechia media reacts to Ryan Naderi’s full debut as Rangers striker shows promise

Ryan Naderi was handed his first international start for Czechia as they faced England at Wembley in their latest Nations League fixture.

The Rangers striker was trusted from the beginning by Santi Denia after making his international debut from the bench against Spain just a few days earlier. However, Czechia eventually suffered a 3-0 defeat, with Vladimír Coufal’s own goal and two Harry Kane strikes deciding the contest.

Naderi had a difficult evening leading the line, often finding himself isolated as England controlled large periods of the game. Nevertheless, his selection from the start shows the faith Denia already has in the 23-year-old.

The Rangers forward has earned his opportunity after making a strong impression at Ibrox, and his first two international appearances have given Czechia supporters an early glimpse of what he could offer.

Naderi earns praise despite England defeat

Czechia’s media reaction to Naderi’s display was mixed, but there were encouraging signs for the Rangers man.

iSport editor Michal Kvasnica highlighted Naderi’s ability to play with his back to goal, his willingness to work and his determination throughout the match. The assessment was that the striker had shown enough to suggest there is genuine potential there.

iSport awarded Naderi a 5/10 rating, pointing to the fact that he was largely left on his own up front while still producing a few promising passes.

Former Czech striker Luděk Zelenka also picked out Naderi’s fighting spirit, although he was critical of Czechia’s overall performance against England.

Another Czech outlet, Sport.cz, gave Naderi a 4/5, using a grading system where the lower number represents the better performance. The assessment praised his willingness to battle, while acknowledging that England presented a major challenge.

For Rangers, the most encouraging aspect may simply be that Naderi has now experienced two very demanding international games against Spain and England.

With Czechia due to face Spain and Croatia again in November, the striker will have another opportunity to establish himself and show why Denia has already put his faith in him.
