Coventry City face Derby County in a Championship clash at the CBS Arena on Good Friday.

After seeing their six-game winning streak ended by a loss to Southampton, Coventry quickly bounced back with an impressive 3-0 win over Swansea City before the international break. Goals from Brandon Thomas-Asante, Matt Grimes, and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto secured all three points.

The Sky Blues currently lead the Championship standings, holding a nine-point advantage over second-placed Middlesbrough and an 11-point gap over Ipswich Town and Millwall, although those margins could change before kick-off.

Derby County, meanwhile, continued their push for the play-offs with a 1-0 victory over Birmingham City, thanks to Rhian Brewster’s first-half goal. The Rams sit eighth, just three points behind sixth-placed Southampton, and could draw level on points depending on results.

Both teams are dealing with several injury concerns heading into the crucial stage of the season.

For Coventry, goalkeeper Oliver Dovin remains sidelined long-term with a serious knee injury. Defender Miguel Angel Brau is also unavailable due to a muscle problem, while striker Brandon Thomas-Asante is a doubt after picking up a hamstring issue. Fellow forward Haji Wright is also uncertain after missing the last match with a groin strain.

Derby are also facing multiple absences. Goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom has been out due to illness, while Josh Vickers is expected to be sidelined for several weeks with a groin injury. Defender Max Johnston is nearing a return after a lengthy spell out, and Callum Elder is recovering from knee surgery.

With both sides missing key players, Friday’s encounter could be heavily influenced by squad depth as they battle for crucial points.
