Philippe Clement makes transfer expectations clear to Ben Knapper at Norwich City F.C.
Norwich City F.C. have been one of the EFL Championship’s strongest sides since Philippe Clement took charge in November, but their poor start under Liam Manning ultimately cost them a play-off place.
A draw with Swansea City A.F.C. on the final day ended their top-six hopes, though the mood at Carrow Road remained positive given their rapid rise from 23rd to a top-10 finish.

Despite injuries and uncertainty surrounding Josh Sargent during the January window, Clement has impressed—but he insists improvement is still needed. The Belgian has called for further investment, stressing the need to add quality to compete for promotion next season.
With stronger competition expected—including relegated Premier League sides and ambitious clubs like Birmingham City F.C. and Wrexham A.F.C.—Clement has urged the club’s hierarchy, led by Ben Knapper, to strengthen the squad.
He also highlighted the importance of unity across the club, praising staff and supporters while emphasising that togetherness will be key to achieving promotion ambitions.
