Main reason Rangers F.C. missed out on Harris Afzal to Southampton F.C.
Harris Afzal has completed a move to Southampton F.C., ending speculation that had linked him with Rangers F.C., Celtic F.C. and Crystal Palace F.C..
Both Rangers and Celtic showed strong interest in the 16-year-old as he prepared to leave Queen’s Park F.C.. However, it became increasingly clear that the youngster preferred a move south of the border.

That decision has now been confirmed, with Southampton officially announcing on April 16 that Afzal has joined the club on a permanent deal at St Mary’s.
Main reason Rangers missed out
The key factor behind Rangers F.C. losing the race was Afzal’s preference to move to England, giving Southampton the edge despite strong interest from Scottish clubs
