Lincoln City furious after supporter incident during Swansea City clash

Lincoln City have condemned a supporter who ran onto the pitch during Saturday’s defeat to Swansea City, warning that the incident could have serious consequences for the club.

The incident occurred during the first half at the ProAmpac Stadium, with Lincoln leading 1-0 after Reeco Hackett converted a penalty. Stewards quickly intervened and brought the supporter to the ground before escorting them away from the playing area.

Swansea eventually turned the match around, with Moussa Yeo and Stephen Eustaquio scoring to secure a 2-1 victory.

Lincoln have now confirmed that they are carrying out a full review of what happened and will cooperate with Lincolnshire Police if an investigation takes place.

In a statement, the club said it “condemns the actions” of the individual involved and stressed that entering the pitch without legal authority is a criminal offence.

The club also confirmed that it will impose the strongest punishment available under its supporter sanctions policy, separate from any potential police or court proceedings.

Lincoln warned that pitch invasions should not be viewed as harmless incidents because they can create unpredictable safety risks for players, officials, stewards and supporters.

The club is also concerned about the possible impact on the wider fanbase. Lincoln remain under an FA Action Plan until the end of the 2026/27 season following previous supporter misconduct.

The club revealed that when it was last punished by the FA in January 2026, an independent Regulatory Commission had seriously considered ordering a partial stadium closure.

Lincoln warned that another incident could result in tougher disciplinary measures, potentially including sections of the stadium being closed, which would affect supporters who were not involved.

The club ended its statement by expressing its “deeply disappointed and angered” reaction to the supporter’s actions.
