Keith Jackson delivers major Rangers injury update as Dujon Sterling receives positive news

Derek McInnes is beginning to see the benefits of consistency at Rangers, with the Ibrox side enjoying an impressive run of seven consecutive victories across all competitions.

The Bears have also kept five clean sheets during that spell, highlighting the defensive strength that has helped drive their recent success. While Ryan Naderi and other attacking players have attracted plenty of attention, Rangers’ defensive organisation has provided a solid foundation.

Ivor Pandur, Emmanuel Fernandez and Olwethu Makhanya have impressed as a defensive unit, while Dujon Sterling and James Penrice have also delivered strong performances.

However, concerns emerged over Sterling after he was substituted at half-time during Rangers’ victory over Kilmarnock. Given his unfortunate history with injuries and illness since arriving at Ibrox, the early substitution raised fears that he could face another spell on the sidelines.

Thankfully for Rangers supporters, journalist Keith Jackson has now shared encouraging information about the defender’s condition.

Speaking on Hotline Live on Tuesday, Jackson revealed that Sterling had returned to Auchenhowie and received the green light from the club’s medical team.

“I think it’s big news for Rangers fans,” Jackson said. “Certainly big news for Derek McInnes.”

Jackson explained that there had initially been concerns about Sterling’s condition following his half-time withdrawal against Kilmarnock.

He also acknowledged the defender’s difficult run with injuries and illness during his time at Rangers, which had made the latest incident particularly worrying.

However, Sterling’s return to the training ground and the positive assessment from the medical staff will come as a welcome boost for McInnes.

With Rangers chasing further success after their impressive winning streak, having Sterling available would provide another encouraging development for the manager as he looks to maintain the team’s momentum.
