Fresh update on Kasper Høgh after Bodø/Glimt explain omission

Bodø/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen has dismissed speculation surrounding Kasper Høgh’s omission from the starting line-up amid renewed transfer interest from Celtic.

The Danish striker, who has been heavily linked with the Scottish champions, began on the bench for Bodø/Glimt’s league victory over HamKam, with Andreas Helmersen leading the attack and scoring twice.

His absence from the starting XI quickly fuelled fresh rumours that a move to Parkhead could be progressing after reports in Norway claimed Celtic had reopened discussions over a potential transfer.

However, Knutsen insisted the decision had nothing to do with transfer speculation, explaining that Høgh was simply rested as part of the squad’s rotation.

The Bodø boss praised his squad’s efforts after a demanding period, highlighting the need to keep players fresh following international commitments and a busy schedule.

Celtic explored a move for Høgh during the January transfer window, but negotiations failed to progress after Bodø/Glimt reportedly increased their valuation following their Champions League success.

While earlier reports suggested the Norwegian champions valued the striker at around £7 million, fresh reports now claim the club are under little pressure to sell and could demand an even higher fee.

According to reports in Norway, Bodø/Glimt’s stance means any deal could exceed the amount Celtic are prepared to pay, leaving the striker’s future uncertain despite continued interest from the Premiership champions.
