Fresh update emerges on Patrick Agyemang’s Derby County comeback
Patrick Agyemang has shared a positive update on his recovery, revealing that his rehabilitation is progressing well as he works towards returning to action for Derby County F.C..
The striker suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during Derby’s win over Stoke City F.C. in April, an injury expected to keep him sidelined until the winter months.

Despite the lengthy recovery, Agyemang remains upbeat. He admitted the support he has received from fans and those around the club has exceeded his expectations and has helped him stay motivated throughout the rehabilitation process.
The American spent part of the summer continuing his recovery in the United States, working with specialists at a rehabilitation clinic in Connecticut before returning to Derby’s Moor Farm training base. He has since resumed gym-based sessions, including strength training, as he gradually builds back towards full fitness.
Looking back on the early stages of his injury, Agyemang admitted he initially struggled with the setback, particularly after learning it would also rule him out of this summer’s World Cup. However, medical staff reassured him that recovery times can vary depending on each player’s progress, giving him confidence that he could return sooner if his rehabilitation continues positively.
The 24-year-old is determined to rediscover the form he showed before his injury, having scored 10 goals for Derby last season, and hopes to make a strong impact once he is cleared to return to competitive football.
