Fares Ghedjemis’s agent has revealed the reasoning behind the January decision regarding the Celtic FC offer
Fares Ghedjemis’s agent, Fabrizio Ferrari, has explained why the winger stayed at Frosinone Calcio in January despite an approach from Celtic FC.
Ghedjemis recently earned his first call-up to the Algeria national football team for friendlies against Guatemala and Uruguay. Reports in January suggested Celtic were keen to bolster their right wing as Martin O’Neill sought reinforcements, but no deal was reached, and the player stayed in Italy while the Hoops signed Joel Mvuka instead.

Ferrari told Tuttomercatoweb: “The renewal? It was an option already in the contract with Frosinone, which they had the right to exercise. Regarding the January market rumours, he really wanted to finish the season aiming for promotion. That was his intention, with Frosinone possibly monetising the move in the summer.”
Looking ahead, Celtic could return for Ghedjemis in the summer, but they may face competition. Since the January window closed, he has scored four goals, attracting interest from Serie A clubs, and he could be playing in Italy’s top tier if Frosinone achieves promotion.
