Daizen Maeda shares emotional Celtic F.C. message about Gavin Strachan
Daizen Maeda has shown his appreciation for departing Celtic F.C. coach Gavin Strachan by sharing the club’s farewell post on social media.
The Japanese forward is currently focused on his country’s upcoming World Cup Group F clash against Sweden national football team, where he could face Celtic teammate Benjamin Nygren. Japan are already in a strong position to advance to the knockout stages.

Back at Celtic, the club recently confirmed Strachan’s exit after six years as part of the first-team coaching staff. During his time at the club, he worked under Neil Lennon, Ange Postecoglou, Brendan Rodgers, and Martin O’Neill before accepting a new role with West Bromwich Albion F.C..
While much of Strachan’s work happened behind the scenes, Maeda’s public gesture highlights the respect he earned within the dressing room.
Maeda himself has also hinted at staying with Celtic despite recent transfer speculation, stating that he plans to keep giving his best in Scotland.
With coaching changes underway and no new signings announced yet, attention now turns to Celtic’s summer recruitment as supporters wait for the club’s next move.
