Coventry City F.C., led by Frank Lampard, secure first signing ahead of Premier League competition

Coventry City F.C. are leading the race to sign Carl Rushworth on a permanent deal after his impressive loan spell under Frank Lampard.

The goalkeeper played a key role in Coventry’s promotion-winning campaign and is now keen to stay at the club, despite interest from Newcastle United F.C.. Any deal would need to be agreed with parent club Brighton & Hove Albion F.C..

Lampard is believed to have had a major influence on Rushworth’s development, with the player eager to continue working under him. The 23-year-old has seen his reputation grow significantly, even earning recognition at international level.

Rushworth also made history this season by breaking a long-standing club record for consecutive minutes without conceding, surpassing Horace Pearson’s mark set in 1934.
