Chris Davies gives a blunt assessment after Birmingham City F.C. fall 2-1 to Ipswich Town F.C
Chris Davies was furious after Birmingham City F.C. were denied what he believed was a deserved point in their 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town F.C..
Kieran McKenna’s side came from behind at Portman Road to secure victory, but the result was overshadowed by a controversial moment in the second half. Birmingham thought they had equalised when Ibrahim Osman’s cross deflected off Dara O’Shea into the net, only for the goal to be ruled out.

Davies branded the decision “scandalous,” arguing that the officials got it wrong and it ultimately cost his team the game. He insisted the goal should have stood, claiming everyone close to the incident knew the ball had remained in play.
Despite the defeat, Davies praised his players’ performance, saying he was proud of their effort and intensity. He highlighted their improved display, noting they matched one of the league’s strongest sides and created the better chances as the game progressed.
He also pointed to the reaction of the fans, who applauded the team at full-time, as proof that the performance deserved more than the result.
