Breaking news: Celtic facing huge disciplinary storm as SPFL investigate multiple incidents
Celtic F.C. could potentially face disciplinary sanctions, including a points deduction, after the SPFL launched investigations into a number of incidents involving supporter behaviour during recent fixtures.
Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett believes punishments could range from financial penalties to matches being played behind closed doors if the club is ultimately found guilty of breaching league regulations.

The governing body is reportedly examining several incidents linked to crowd behaviour, including pitch invasions and the use of pyrotechnics. Among the matches under review are Celtic’s recent encounters against Hearts and Motherwell, both of which drew attention due to supporter activity.
Celtic’s dramatic 3-1 title-clinching victory over Heart of Midlothian F.C. has been particularly controversial after home fans entered the pitch late in the match following a decisive goal. Debate intensified over whether referee Don Robertsonshould have brought proceedings to an end amid the disorder.
Although the Scottish Football Association later publicly supported Robertson’s decision to conclude the match, that has not prevented further scrutiny over the conduct of supporters and whether disciplinary action against the club may follow.
Hackett suggested that, given repeated incidents involving pitch invasions this season — including celebrations following Celtic’s Scottish Cup penalty victory over Rangers — authorities may decide stronger action is required. He speculated that a five-point deduction, a significant financial punishment or even a fixture behind closed doors could all be possible consequences if breaches are proven.
The wider SPFL investigations reportedly extend beyond Celtic fixtures, with incidents involving clubs including Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Hamilton Academical, Clyde, Stenhousemuir and Alloa Athletic also under review as officials assess supporter conduct and player safety concerns.
Former Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness has also argued that action must be taken following the scenes at Celtic Park, insisting authorities need to send a clear message after repeated supporter invasions throughout the campaign.
