Celtic F.C. are stepping up preparations for a busy summer rebuild despite still waiting to appoint a permanent manager at Parkhead.

One major boost could come in the goalkeeping department, with Jari De Busser reportedly informing Go Ahead Eaglesthat he wants to leave this summer amid interest from Celtic. The goalkeeper, believed to be valued at around £1.25 million, is entering the final year of his contract and could emerge as a realistic option for the Scottish champions.

The Hoops are expected to strengthen between the posts following the retirement of Kasper Schmeichel after an injury-hit campaign, with Viljami Sinisalo currently the leading senior option.

Elsewhere, Celtic have reportedly been handed encouragement in their pursuit of goalkeeper Clark, with FC Red Bull Salzburg expected to sanction a lower-cost exit as sporting director Marcus Mann looks to reduce the club’s wage bill.

In defence, Celtic remain keen on a return for Julián Araujo after his previous spell in Glasgow was disrupted by injury. The Mexican full-back impressed during his short stint, though Mexican side C.F. Monterrey are said to have already opened talks over a move, potentially complicating matters for the Hoops.

Meanwhile, Celtic may also revisit interest in veteran striker Callum Wilson after he confirmed his departure from West Ham. The experienced forward had looked set to leave earlier in the year but stayed on before ultimately exiting following the club’s relegation struggle.

Despite uncertainty over the managerial situation and delayed talks involving Martin O’Neill and Dermot Desmond, transfer activity behind the scenes appears to be gathering pace as Celtic shape plans for next season.
