Ryan Reynolds shares emotional statement after unexpected Wrexham announcement
Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds has shared an emotional message celebrating the togetherness at the club following a turbulent few days behind the scenes at the Racecourse Ground.
The Hollywood star was alongside fellow co-owner Rob Mac on Saturday as Wrexham welcomed Wolves, with the two sides playing out an entertaining 1-1 draw. Adam Armstrong gave the visitors the lead before Lewis O’Brien found the net to earn the Red Dragons a share of the points.

However, the result came at the end of a significant week for the Welsh club, following the announcement that chief executive Michael Williamson had left his position after two years at Wrexham.
Reynolds and Mac confirmed the development, thanking Williamson for his contribution before appointing club director Shaun Harvey as interim chief executive.
The news came after the earlier departure of popular former executive director Humphrey Ker and sparked considerable discussion among Wrexham supporters, with some questioning whether there was more behind the latest change than had been revealed publicly.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the club’s boardroom situation, Harvey received a warm reception from supporters during Saturday’s game.
Reynolds also took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the afternoon, highlighting the atmosphere inside the stadium, the progress being made on the new Kop stand and the special connection he feels with Wrexham.
He described the development of the new stand as a reminder of the exciting times ahead, while praising the unity between the supporters and the players.
The 1-1 draw was clearly an enjoyable occasion for the co-owner, who reflected on some of his happiest memories at the Racecourse Ground alongside Mac.
Reynolds wrote: “What a show the boys put on. I can’t believe how far along the new Kop stand is. It feels like a living, breathing promise of the greatest days yet to come.
“So much to look forward to… There’s togetherness in the stands and with the boys on the pitch — but more than anything there’s just something about this place. Some of the best days of my life have been spent in this stadium, standing next to @robmac. Today was one of them. Up The Town.”
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has also previously spoken about the importance of having Reynolds and Mac around the club.
The manager believes their presence makes a difference to the players, particularly because of the genuine connection they have developed with Wrexham and their continued interest in the team’s progress, even when they are back in the United States.
Parkinson said: “Whatever division we’ve been in, when Rob and Ryan have been here, I think it’s good for the players to see their connection with the club, how much they care and how much they’re watching from afar.”
With the new Kop stand continuing to take shape and the club looking ahead to another important chapter, Reynolds’ latest message has underlined the sense of ambition and unity he believes remains at the heart of Wrexham.
