Tensions rise before Celtic vs Hearts as footage of reported Parkhead brawl emerges

Footage has emerged online of a reported clash between Celtic and Hearts supporters outside Celtic Park ahead of their Scottish Premiership meeting.

According to The Scottish Sun, rival fans were involved in a confrontation along Celtic Way as visiting supporters made their way towards the stadium.

Videos shared on social media appeared to show individuals exchanging punches near the Billy McNeill statue, with some people also seen lifting crowd-control barriers during the incident. Police Scotland had been approached for comment, although no response was included in the report at the time of publication.

Away from the reported disorder, Celtic delivered a commanding performance on the pitch, thrashing Hearts 7-1 to move four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Callum Osmand enjoyed a memorable first professional start, scoring twice, while Benjamin Nygren also grabbed a brace. Kieran Tierney and Camilo Duran added further goals, with Jamie McCart’s own goal completing Celtic’s tally. Laurent Mendy scored Hearts’ only goal of the afternoon.

Martin O’Neill’s side produced the kind of attacking display Celtic supporters have been eager to see, combining quick movement with clinical finishing to punish Hearts’ defensive mistakes.

There were several encouraging individual performances, while Jota continued his return to full fitness by completing another 45 minutes.

Celtic must now turn their attention to Thursday’s European meeting with Celta Vigo, where they will be looking to build on their domestic momentum and secure a crucial three points.
