Tom Wagner breaks silence with heartfelt message after Birmingham City’s victory over QPR
Birmingham City owner Tom Wagner has sent an emotional message to the club’s supporters after returning to St Andrew’s to watch the Blues secure an impressive 3-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
The Blues delivered a convincing performance in front of their home fans, with Liam Millar scoring twice and Demarai Gray adding another goal to help Birmingham climb to fourth place in the Championship table.

However, the result was not the only talking point from the afternoon, as Wagner’s presence at St Andrew’s made the occasion particularly special for Birmingham supporters.
The Knighthead chief, whose group took control of the club in 2023, has ambitious plans for Birmingham’s future, including a proposed 62,000-capacity stadium as part of a wider sports quarter development.
Wagner has also endured a difficult period personally after suffering a stroke earlier this year. Following his recovery, he returned to St Andrew’s for the first time against Wolverhampton Wanderers in September before attending Saturday’s clash with QPR.
Tom Wagner sends emotional message to Birmingham City fans
Following Birmingham’s comfortable victory, Wagner took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the supporters who have stood by him during his recovery.
The Blues owner reaffirmed his special connection with the club, writing: “There really is no place like St. Andrew’s.”
He also revealed how much the fans’ encouragement had meant to him during the challenging months, acknowledging the kindness and messages he had received from the Birmingham faithful.
Wagner said his return to the stadium meant a great deal to him, expressing appreciation for the support shown by supporters throughout his recovery.
He concluded his message by thanking the wider Birmingham community for welcoming him back, describing his return as a special moment surrounded by the “Blues family”.
His latest appearance at St Andrew’s follows September’s emotional return against Wolves, when Birmingham played out a 2-2 draw with their local rivals.
With the Blues continuing to make progress on the pitch, Wagner’s message has offered supporters another reminder of his personal connection with the club and his commitment to its future.
