Celtic’s New Adidas Shirt Leaks Online With Hoops Fans Set to Love It

Celtic supporters could soon have another shirt to add to their collection, although the timing of its arrival may raise a few eyebrows.

There is already considerable frustration among the Hoops support after a poor run in the club’s biggest fixtures of the campaign.

Celtic threw away a healthy lead against LASK and failed to reach the Champions League proper before suffering a heavy defeat to Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup. Their difficult spell then continued with a Europa League loss to Ferencvaros at Celtic Park.

With scrutiny now falling on the board, Martin O’Neill and the players, another piece of club merchandise is reportedly set to hit the shelves.

The issue for anyone looking to criticise it as simply another commercial release is that the design itself appears to be very appealing.

Footy Headlines have leaked images of what they claim will be Celtic’s Adidas Icon jersey, with the shirt reportedly scheduled for release in early 2027.

Unlike the club’s traditional playing kits, the new jersey is not expected to feature during competitive matches. Instead, it will be part of Adidas’ lifestyle and terrace-wear range.

The design takes inspiration from Adidas styles associated with the late 1980s and early 1990s.

A deep green colour forms the base of the shirt, while darker diagonal stripes run across both the body and sleeves. Fine geometric pinstripes add another layer of detail and give the material a distinctly retro feel.

Gold detailing completes the look.

Adidas have also gone for a centralised badge design, with the iconic Trefoil positioned above a monochrome Celtic crest. The club badge incorporates the four-leaf clover alongside Celtic’s 1888 founding date.

On appearance alone, it is likely to attract plenty of interest when it eventually becomes available.

The bigger question, however, is whether supporters will feel the same enthusiasm given everything currently happening at the club.

Celtic fans continue to invest heavily in the team through season tickets, European packages, replica shirts and training wear. Naturally, there is an expectation that such financial backing should also be reflected in the club’s footballing operation.

A new retro jersey can generate further commercial income, but another merchandise launch cannot take attention away from the concerns surrounding performances on the pitch.

From a purely design perspective, though, Adidas appear to have produced another attractive Celtic shirt. The timing may be difficult to ignore, but there is little to complain about when it comes to the jersey itself.
